The
Dish: Moby Dick's House of Kabob
Carolyn Osinski, News Editor
The Kentlands area has well over ten excellent restaurants to sample,
yet there is one that greatly exceeds the quality of all the rest:
Moby Dick's House of Kabob.
Although Moby Dick's House of Kabob is primarily known for serving,
you guessed it, kabobs, they have a wide variety of other choices
on their menu including souvlaki, gyros, salads, and more.
Upon entering the somewhat noisy, crowded restaurant I decided
to try the dish of their namesake, the kabob, of a chicken variety,
called "Kabob-E Joojeh." The meal cost approximately seven
dollars, without tax, a reasonable amount for so much food that
there could have been leftovers for two or three more days. I took
a seat at one of the more cramped tables with a few friends, and
to my great pleasure, the food was ready in less than five minutes.
The chicken was tender and well marinated, yet not too juicy. The
meal came with ample portions of rice, which had a subtle, yet delicious,
buttery flavor. Despite the great quality of the overall meal, the
pita bread was definitely the highlight. With its warm temperature,
chewy texture, and great flavor, this was by far the best pita bread
I have ever eaten.
I would give Moby Dick's a solid three stars out of four. If you're
in the mood for great quality, quick service and a relaxed atmosphere,
this is definitely the place to go.
Plus, it's just around the corner from Kentlands Stadium 8 movie
theatre, down the street from Seattle's Best and across the street
from Bombay Dhaba.
